The report explores what freedom means to young top talents (n=898), particularly in light of rapid technological change \u2013 giving voice to the St. Gallen Symposium\u2019s Leaders of Tomorrow (LoT) community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" data-block-type=\"core\">Five key insights:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" data-block-type=\"core\"><li><strong>Debates on freedom should bear in mind inter-generational fairness:<\/strong>&nbsp;84% of the LoTs blame the older generation for having granted itself too much freedom at the expense of the younger generation.<\/li><li><strong>Leaders of Tomorrow demand regulation of the digital sphere:<\/strong>&nbsp;75% of the LoT recommend restricting the freedom to express oneself freely on the Internet if others are severely insulted or verbally abused.<\/li><li><strong>Leaders of Tomorrow push back against technology that limits users\u2019 freedom of choice:<\/strong>&nbsp;67% of the Leaders of Tomorrow explicitly evaluate algorithms that filter the online content they see as a restriction of their freedom of information.<\/li><li><strong>Leaders of Tomorrow\u2019s willingness to delegate certain decision tasks to AI varies strongly according to the nature of the job:<\/strong>&nbsp;It\u2019s lowest for the delegation of selecting job candidates (53%) and highest for granting customers discounts or setting surcharges (89%).<\/li><li><strong>Transparency and ethical principles built into technologies may drive future business models:<\/strong>&nbsp;92% of the Leaders of Tomorrow favour technology futures that guarantee transparency and data privacy; but just 44% consider it likely that this will happen.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-divider stk-block-divider stk-block stk-3d18b6e\" data-block-id=\"3d18b6e\"><style>.stk-3d18b6e{margin-bottom:0px !important}<\/style><hr class=\"stk-block-divider__hr\"\/><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"readmore\" data-block-type=\"core\">Read more<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\"><a href=\"https:\/\/symposium.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/VoLoT-Report-2020-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2020 Full Report \u2013 Voices of the Leaders of Tomorrow Report 2020<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\"><a href=\"https:\/\/symposium.org\/neue-studie-voices-of-the-leaders-of-tomorrow\/\">2020 Press Release&nbsp;\u2013 Voices of the Leaders of Tomorrow Report 2020<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Since 2010, our annual flagship study &#8220;Voices of the Leaders of Tomorrow&#8221; (formerly called the &#8220;Global Perspectives Barometer&#8221;) \u2013 a cooperation with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nim.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 empowers the voices of students and young professionals worldwide.
